February 2012
Well… Happy New Year.
I know we are a month late with that sentiment, but I know you’ll forgive me as we all have our pre occupations in early January.

So 2012….what does it have in store for us? Well according to the Mayan Calendar (Central Americas) 2012 will see the end of the world. Well I have seen the film and I wasn’t convinced…something about displaced magma, shifting continents and a huge Noah’s Ark. I will settle for my hot air balloon! And let’s face it, you can’t trust those Mayans, they didn’t even discover the wheel…how did they do their clothes shopping!?
2012 does offer events more celebratory. The Commemoration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and it all culminates on June 2nd 2013. Sixty years on the throne… she’s a better woman than me; I am just trying to sell the clothes that were popular in her day!

The Olympics hit London too. Wow! That will be some event worth watching. And I am flying the flag with some reworked Levi shorts to show our support of GB’s efforts, hitting the website….more of that later.

February 14th is here soon and recently someone told me the story of how Man and Woman and Love came about. I would like to share with you the abridged version. In primal times Man was joined to their partners back to back. Some men and men, some women and women, and some androgynous, men and women. They had 4 limbs and were stronger, faster and happier because they were always with their soul mate. They foolishly climbed Mount Olympus to challenge the gods. Zeus decided to punish them, and tore them half and spread them throughout the world. So man is eternally looking for his soul mate….. Ah isn’t that sad! Oh well I suppose a card, red rose and a box of chocolates will have to do!! (Well at least one of them!)
The Queen celebrates her 60th Year on the throne...
Last year I talked of the ‘Dejanira’ line. This would be a new line of clothing inspired and completed by those looking for the opportunity to display their collection. This sees its first efforts with innovative designs, mostly in the reworking of Levi shorts and retro sweatshirts. These reworkings seem to have a significant appeal to a ‘young at heart’ generation and I am pleased to be able to diversify the site whilst holding onto our ‘Vintage’ beginnings.
‘The way we look reflects the very essence of our character and personality’ and so be it.

The gothic androgyny of Punk Rock has inspired many designers over the years
Gerri's platform boots were an important finish to her Iconic 1990's Spice Gilrs outfit
We all remember the famous Union Jack dress worn by Gerri Halliwell in the Spice Girls Day ... but now it's back better than ever. Longer in length than its 1997 predecessor and featuring a cowl neck. The 'Next' version will be available from March at a retail cost of £199
The Sex Pistols, a London band formed in 1975 were responsible for initiating the punk movement in the United Kingdom and inspiring many later punk and alternative rock musicians. Although their initial career lasted just two-and-a-half years and produced only four singles and one studio album, they are regarded as one of the most influential acts in the history of popular music
